It's never too early to start thinking about saving for college. Students can be eligible to apply for scholarships, they just need to find the right ones. Below are scholarships our guidance and counseling staff have found that our students may be eligible to apply for, please read more information on the individual website for details.

The Young Scholars Program, a selective 5-year pre-college scholarship for high-performing middle school students with financial need, is the largest scholarship of its kind in the nation. It provides individualized academic advising, financial support, and a pathway to the foundation’s $40,000 per year College Scholarship. 

Each year, the Cooke Foundation selects Young Scholars from a nationwide applicant pool based on
• High academic ability and achievement

• Demonstrated financial need

• Drive and persistence

• Leadership

• Desire to help others

Young Scholars come from all racial and ethnic backgrounds and from rural, suburban, and urban communities throughout the United States. Many Young Scholars are the first in their family to pursue college education.

Deadline: The deadline is generally in April of each year. 

 

Open to children in grades K – 12. The competition asks children to design a Google Logo based on a predetermined topic. Awards are given in four grade divisions: K – 3, 4 – 6, 7 – 9, and 10 – 12. The four national finalists in each grade group will receive a $5000 scholarship to be used at the college or university of their choice. One national winner will receive a $30,000 scholarship.

 

Deadline: Applications generally open early January of each year.
